NanoCam Sq Dynamic Optical Profiler
The NanoCam Sq dynamic optical profiler measures surface roughness on supersmooth optics and precision surfaces. The non-contact NanoCam Sq replaces messy replication methods required with traditional workstation optical profilers and provides excellent portability.
By enabling on-machine roughness metrology the NanoCam Sq increases throughput and reduces the risk of damage to expensive, mission-critical optics.

The NanoCam Sq optical profilometer utilizes Dynamic Interferometry®, incorporating a high-speed optical sensor that measures thousands of times faster than typical profilers. Because acquisition time is so short, the NanoCam Sq can measure despite vibration, making it possible to mount the instrument in polishing equipment, on a gantry or on a robot end effector. With this freedom of positioning the NanoCam can measure any location on the surface of a large optic, even in situ in polishing equipment.
Applications for the NanoCam Sq optical profiler include surface roughness of small and large coated/uncoated optics, on-machine surface roughness metrology, and process control for polishing operations.
The NanoCam Sq Dynamic Optical Profiler includes 4Sight™ advanced analysis software. Industry-leading 4Sight reports ISO 25178 surface roughness parameters (S parameters) and provides extensive 2D and 3D analysis options, data filtering, masking, database and import/export functions.

FizCam Fizeau Laser Interferometers
FizCam Fizeau laser interferometers provide accurate, large aperture measurements even in challenging environments. FizCam laser intererometer systems capture full wavefront measurements in under 1 millisecond, enabling accurate measurement even in the presence of vibration and air turbulence. Their on-axis design eliminates the aberrations, software corrections and painstaking calibrations required with other Fizeau systems.
FizCam dynamic laser interferometers excel at general optics and large diameter optical component testing as well as analysis of moving parts. FizCam systems are equally at home in the lab or in noisy environments such as production floors and cleanrooms. Short and long coherence length options enable difficult measurements such as remote cavities, simultaneous measurement of multiple glass surfaces, or measurements in environmental testing chambers.

High-resolution PolarCam cameras are available with 0.29, 1.4, 1.8 and 3.8 mega-pixel sensors. The video rate of up to 259 full frames per second ensures fast capture of quickly changing scenes. The new CMOS high speed PolarCam can even provide up to 170 frames/second at its full 1248 x 1082 resolution. Using customizable regions of interest the CMOS cameras provide frame rates in the kilohertz range.
Optional PolarView software provides real-time display and calculation of key polarization parameters, including Degree of Linear Polarization (DoLP), Angle of Linear Polarization (AoLP), linear Stokes parameters (S0, S1 and S2) and more. Use the many included tools to process and analyze the data, then save images and movies of each parameter for comprehensive analysis.

FlexCam
Roughness and Defect Measurement
The FlexCam is a compact, high resolution 3D metrology module for in situ roll-to-roll measurement of substrates, barrier films and intermediate layers. FlexCam modules provide sub-nanometer vertical resolution and micrometer-scale lateral resolution for in-process roughness and defect quantification.
Surface roughness and defects affect the longevity of components deposited on substrates. FlexCam enables real-time monitoring and control of roughness to less than 0.5nm rms, both inclusive of and exclusive of defects on the film. The system provides accurate measurement despite runout, web flutter, and other effects which can vary the relative location of the substrate with respect to the measurement system. No other system can match its performance.
FlexCam also identifies and quantifies defects, registering their position within the roll. Multiple defect statistics are calculated including area, volume, depth and slope, with user-selectable pass/fail criteria as each metric can have adverse effects on barrier or end device performance. Extrinsic versus intrinsic defects can be discriminated to help isolate their root cause. Where bright-field inspection systems are sensitive to the backside of the film as well as the roller surface, 4D’s FlexCam is immune to such effects, measuring only the top surface.
Every FlexCam module provides thousands of times more areal coverage than off-line bright-field or 3D microscopes. Each FlexCam module can provide 100% inspection in the machine direction for web speeds up to 1 m/minute. In addition, FlexCam modules can be arrayed across a web, offering as little or as much sampling in the transverse direction as required.
Each module processes all data on-board, calculating and reporting statistics in real-time, for incredible processing speed. In production mode, simple controls and pass/fail criteria make it easy to monitor the process. In engineering mode, 2D analyses, statistics and visualization tools help you quickly dial in process parameters and examine individual defects with high fidelity.

Quantitative Phase Microscope
The BioCam Quantitative Phase Microscope lets you measure cell motion and dynamics at video rates within and among live cells.
Dynamic Interferometry® provides fast acquisition that enables cell imaging in real time, at video rates, to track cellular motion and changes in cell volume. The method offers sharper cell imaging, faster acquisition and faster analysis time than other methods such as digital holography.
This video shows the blood flow in the cardinal (axial) vein of a 3-day old anesthetized zebrafish (Danio rerio). The video was created using the BioCam Quantitative Phase Microscope with 511nm LED source, 20X magnification, and 33 x 44 micron field of view.
The BioCam uses low light levels to avoid phototoxicity and does not require contrast agents, enabling researchers to measure the volume, optical thickness and dry cell mass of live cells and to follow motion and processes over time. This data provides valuable information to researchers studying cellular dynamics, motility, and cell and tissue morphology.
